The resources suggest that these apps can assist in most learning areas as it is used to consolidate content specific learning which fosters play based learning.

English: – Literacy (Foundation – Year 2)

Comprehending texts through listening, reading and viewing
  • Interpret and analyse learning area texts
  • Navigate, read and view learning area texts
Composing texts through speaking, writing and creating
  • Compose spoken, written, visual and multimodal learning area texts
Word Knowledge
  • Understand learning area vocabulary

Math: Chance ( Year one and two)

Year One – Identify outcomes of familiar events involving chance and describe them using everyday language such as ‘will happen’, ‘won’t happen’ or ‘might happen’

  • justifying that some events are certain or impossible

Year Two – identify practical activities and everyday events that involve chance. Describe outcomes as ‘likely’ or ‘unlikely’ and identify some events as ‘certain’ or ‘impossible’

  • classifying a list of everyday events according to how likely they are to happen, using the language of chance, and explaining reasoning

    This is a great resource that I have seen used before on my practicum. It was engaging and allowed the students to be very creative.
    I would love to hear further about this resource being implemented through a cross-curricular approach, if you had tried using this resource in another learning area and if it worked effectively.


  2. This looks fantastic. I wish I knew about this when completing my practicum with year one students. I think it is important to help students become confident with technology and this would be perfect in doing so. Would definitely use in future classrooms. Thanks!

    i like how you’ve added in lesson plans for us to use along side your resource, this will make implementing what you have shown a lot easier and allow for us to spend less time trying to come up with a new idea for lessons. i also like how your information is straightforward and to the point
