  1. This resource looks very versatile and very much like something students would love to use. I like that it ‘looks like tv, but feels like the web’ as stated in the video.

  2. Touchcast provides teachers with an intriguing option for providing students with instructional content. For example, in year 9/10 Design and Technologies, students ‘investigate and make judgments on how the principles of food safety, preservation, preparation, presentation and sensory perceptions influence the creation of food solutions for healthy eating’ (ACARA, 2015). The teacher could create an informative Touchcast video that illutrates the design factors involed in food storage and food spillage prevention measures. The teacher could supplement the Touchcast with worksheets and questions to ensure student accountability.

Does anyone else know of any other ways the teacher can use Touchcast to form the basis of a lesson?

  3. TouchCast is an excellent resource in the classroom, and is a useful way for students to create their own presentation on any given subject. For example, year four science requires students to identify the changes of the Earth’s surface overtime (ACSSU075). By using ‘TouchCast’ the students could easily apply videos of the Earth changes, and explanations to why.
TouchCast is incredibly adaptable in the classroom, and great way for students to learn using digital technologies.

  4. This service looks like is has some major potential within the classroom. I feel as though the program would require some getting used to but I believe that students these days would be able to develop their use over their schooling years, using this “Touchcast” in engaging ways that will compliment their learning.
    Thank you for sharing.

  5. Great post! I liked how this gives the ability to turn a normal video into an interactive and engaging activity for your students in the classroom. Is this app user friendly or will it require a lot of time for teachers to gain an understanding on how to use this? Also, what is the cost?
